Seattle-Tacoma
Weather
Summer days in the Pacific
Northwest are long and sun-splashed.
That's right, most summer
and early fall days are sunny, or at least partly cloudy
and rainfall totals during the warmer
months are a
tiny fraction of some other golf hot-spots like Florida
or the Carolinas (see below). In fact, we
get less rain than Miami and Myrtle Beach
in 7 out of
12 months!
With our northerly location,
days are 16 hours long on June 21st with twilight that
lingers past 10:00 pm -- so playing 36 holes with a
leisurely lunch is easy, and 54 holes is not out of the
question!
And
while winter days are
frequently damp and gray, the cool Pacific that brings those showers
also moderates our temperature (snow is rare), so that we do
not experience the kind of cold temperatures you might expect
given the northerly latitude. In fact, our
winter lows are nearly identical to those
of Myrtle
Beach.
So if you can't visit in
August, don't despair, bring a sweater and long trousers.
Chances are, you'll still have a great round and great visit
-- with lower prices and fewer crowds on the
courses!
